Rahul Dravid, Rajasthan Royals' coach, joked about his leg injury, saying that he should not have played cricket because of his age at the moment. Dravid was injured prior to the start of the IPL 2025 season when he was playing cricket in Bengaluru.

Dravid defies injury, reports to team

In spite of his injury, Dravid showed up at the team before the start of the tournament and was in the Royals' dugout for their first two matches. He was seen wearing a cast and using an electric wheelchair as he observed his team's training and matches.

Recovery and support

The Indian legend was present at the pre-match press conference before RR vs CSK in Guwahati and stated that he is doing fine currently and is getting great support. "Recovering well. Got some wonderful support. Just, at my age unfortunately, cricket match playing was not a great idea I think. But it's fine. Happens so it's fine," said Dravid.

Positive outlook for Rajasthan royals

Though the team had started the season sluggishly, Dravid was confident about the strength of the team. "It's early days, and there are a lot of positives," Dravid answered. "Against SRH, we possibly lost 25-30 runs extra on a flat track. And against KKR, we would have scored 25-30 more. But this is only the start. We feel that we can change the corner now."

Dravid delighted with RR team

Dravid further opined that he is happy with the RR squad currently and they can still conclude well even with a poor opening to the season. "I'm very content with this group. A few matches have not gone our way, but such things happen in a long competition. Sometimes a slow beginning followed by a fine finish is okay and that's what we're aiming for," he said.
